Hells Bells (AC/DC) is really good.

Dennis, i do remember, everytime the music stopped, the boat slowed down!!!

I remember playing Jimmy Shand whilst sailing with Cornwall at the scottish series.  Annoyed just about the entire fleet

Life's a reach, then you gybe

For a bit of culture i like to listen to -

Wagner: The Ride of the Valkyries.

It gives you that 'Apocalypse Now' feeling as you are aiming at the beach.
That feeling can happen a lot in our boat!

Thanks Jack, just thought of "Riders on the Storm" (?) by the Doors

Suprised no-one has mentioned anything by the Black Sabbath yet or the Sex Pistols- Jon Lydon screaming "I WANT TO BE ANARCHY" sort of gets you in the mood for those we shouldn't have launched days!

Try something calming like albatross by fleetwood mac whilst flying down a reach, freaks you out a little.

Dennis, can't remember who was helming, think it was one of the early morning races where the boat sailed itself

i love listening to jack johnson before and during sailing! in the car it´s always the red hot chilli peppers. cheers me up a bit, while jack johnson calms me down.

by the way: had a casette player in the old fireball we had. the boxes had been in the both sides of the deck. was quite good but in the 14 that doesn´t work anymore.

I find Black Sabbath's "National Acrobat" is quite appropriate when trying
to gybe a N12 in any breeze

Just remembered it was me who was helming the Gareloch because it was my weapon of choice at the time...... Mind you the pipers weren't too hot, trying to thrash it like a dinghy when there was nothing to thrash. Remember that year we were in the protest room 3 times within the 1st day....... DSQ, DSQ, DSQ  , Still managed a reasonable placing considering all the factors.

Time to Burn by Storm is another quality tune for blasting, an old Ibiza classic.
