Currently not, but been off and on over the years. Usually I lapse cause I lose faith that they are actually doing anything useful.

Gold Instructor here, I have windsurfing listed as my main sport, that way you get third party insurance. If it is not, give the a call and they can change it straight away.

I have bought a few items with instructor discount and use the RYA lounge plus the discount at Ally Pally.

I'm one because I have to be.

They are certainly finding new ways of increasing revenue!

Your club must never speak to your local RDO then or your local RDO is not good at his job. The RDO we have in the Eastern Region is a top bloke and has done a lot for Hunts as a club to encourage participation at all levels.

This is working as we currently have a waiting list for boat park spaces and the largest membership we have had for a number of years.

Go on give them a call, you never know you might be pleasantly surprised....

Oh and I am currently a personal member. I was a huge skeptic of the RYA until I did my instructors course (which was part funded by the club and part funded by the RYA with a small cost for me personally).

Personal member to keep my instructors certificate validated.

Deviating slightly…surely if windsurfing is not your main sport, this is then incorrect information and your insurance is invalid? Like saying that your car lives in a secure garage when it doesn't, to get cheaper insurance.

You get third party provided by the RYA as a benefit if you have windsurfing as your first sport. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
