Well the only area of doubt about how well it will 'work' is surrounding the foil and lack of 'end plate' effect, the guys assure me if we go big, hi aspect and deep enough it won't be an issue and at the end of the day it's a big wide platform that won't fall over. tbh it looks right now like the sailboat equivalent of a formula windsurf board.
I'm sure it''l go upwind like a train, it'll do O.K. offwind, it should go round corners without tipping me in and I can make cock ups without being punished for it. It should be wide enough to carry a big old sail and my target of being able to sail a single hander in the lower 900's without stress should have been attained.
I'm not sure I have the financial stomach for risking it any further, the next stage would be building in carbon to make it light and ironing out any 'issues' that may arise.

The recession has cut so much deeper this year than ever it did in the past three, so chucking more cash at a project that would be very unlikely to get any uptake from what is after all a very 'tight' market would at this stage be very foolish.

So I shall probably use it as a platform for trying out rig 'experiments' whilst enjoying round the cans racing in something designed for me and my particular water, and I should be happy at last and not moaning all the time.

That was my first thought - looks wide and probably quite heavy???
What weight and sail area are you targetting?
What mast is going on?

It's around 2 metres before the racks, if you want things to be fast and easy then they need to be wide, that's what happened in windsurfing and the whole widestyle revolution, and now I'm bringing it to dinghies.

Wide = Fast Acelleration and stability.
Even Wider = Light Guys can make em go.

I'm going to have to go some to tip it over, no doubt I will sooner or later and when it happens it'll be spectacular, but it'll have to be something catastrophically stupid to do it.

I've never like all that silly boat falling over nonesense, why would you design a boat to do that?

Last discussion we were using Vortex or RS700 bits and a K1 jib.

But to get it on the water, it'll be whatever comes to hand, that wide, maybe an RS800 set up, that should make a quick single hander.. Wink

I'd make the inner granny bar a little further out - so that IF it does capsize at least you have a useful half step on the way up to the centreboard being as the hull to deck join doesn't look like it will provide anything to step on

You're forgetting the step on the inside of the tunnel...

Then I think it'll be round the front, like a Blaze.
