So it's a legitimate question to ask about the aero, but not the zero? |

To be fair, DS2 did post with the intention to bring balance to alleged nit-picking on the Aero thread. They are valid questions, not all of us have such recent Laser experience to recognise this is as a run of the mill 'user error' for unstayed unarigs. Anyway, on the other issue about 'getting back in', I will test capsize saturday and see if I can climb in over the side of the Zero.... you'll have to take my word for whether I can or not, as my GoPro bit the dust and I sold the replacement. I shall be disappointed if I have to haul my ass over the back on every capsize whatever the wind strength, but hey, these are the prices you pay when you buy a re-written playbook.

I see we have a new troll to deal with. After this post nothing shall pass my keyboard. That was his decision but I can attest, from personal experience, that you can get in over the side of a D-Zero very easily when in the water after the boat has righted.

It’s all been said
on Facebook really. But happy to go over it again. It’s a mixture of the transition
between running and running by the lee, a nasty gust and being in a the wrong position
in the boat in my opinion. Quite funny actually. But it went over with a bit of
a slap! I have always found the Zero really stable Downwind, thanks to the
chine really it saves you a little bit of time with the over exuberant rolls. |

Yeah it was a lot windier than it looked and he had too much sail out and too much twist (and not enough board down). Any SH will capsize like that in those conditions.

In particular the one of the uncontrolled capsize to windward going down wind. |
