It does look a lot of fun. Much more so than the Contender. Shame, but I think I'm probably too big for it.

And it has a centreboard to keep grumph happy.
Do they not have a main halyard?

The fact it does not have a main halyard is personal choice. I for one would go for the RS100 system as I can't be bothered with all this capsizing stuff. Particularily in a restricted space it could be a pain and it is also not easy to release in a hurry.

From a safety/emergency point of view I find the no halyard setup better. you just grab the masthead onto the safety boat and pull the rope loop of the hook or even cut it (who cares about replacing a 6 inch length of rope) and the sail just comes down. So much less hassle than faffing round with halyards.

I don't think I could be bothered with rolling a singlehander over to rig the main though. With a two hander its easy, with a singlehander its more of a problem.

The mast I have has a release line that runs up to a spinnaker pole end piston hook. The trolley is designed for the boat to be rolled over so it is very easy to do. You pull the sail up and place the loop past the piston pin. Go sailing. If you need to get it down to land on a lee shore etc. you can pull the release line at the bottom of the mast. This system is easy, doesn't compress the mast, stops halyard slip when applying Cunningham, removes the weight of the rope of the halyard, avoids the dreded kevlar halyard breakage and is safe. But you don't have to use it. You can use a halyard if you like.
