The fee for lodging a protest is a round of drinks for the whole fleet. Obviously non refundable

We need a summer trip to the seaside, so some scores can be settled with puddle boys and pond life with added beach break and bars that stay open beyond 11pm.

How about HSSC? With your local knowledge you have the advantage
If it doesn't clash with my lawn mowing I would be up for it

I could probably get HSSC to do it, we have been known to get the council to give us camper van access to the recreation ground opposite, even though if you get in early enough you can park next to the promenade just up the road from us.

In all seriousness we'd have to have some sort of launch recovery assist or you would trash your boats on the beach if it cut up choppy.

So if you want it, say now and I'll put it to them, in fact I did have a plan once for a sail across Hythe bay from the Varne to us, kind of a big downwinder with an out to sea leg in the scary stuff, then a lift back to pick up your trailor courtesy of the RHDR. (Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Light Railways) Beer on the train then drunken trailer race back to the club across Romney Marsh.. Wink

Or, we ditch the boats up at Greatstone, bring the trailers across to Hythe, then Beer train it back on the light railway, to Greatstone, then sail back, now that would be an event to witness...

Well I've had time to think about the boat launch thing and we could get the sixth form from the local girls school to do it as a project in between their beach volley practise. So, it goes, ditch the boats up at the Varne, trailors back at Hythe, girls get them onto the beach whilst we beer train it back to Greatstone, then we have a bit of a downwinder race, mayeb a couple of buoys chucked in to gybe round and make sure we are out of range of the live firing ranges on the way, then bikini clad beach volley girls lift the entire boat and crew onto it's trailer, having dispensed a fesh tinny to the helm, then retire to the bar..

Sounds like a plan to me..

Show those furballers what they're hulk should look like.. LOL

I can't wait!

FOM 2013

I am pleased to announce that this year’s FOM will be over the weekend of 5th/6th October at Broxbourne SC.  I know that some of you have fast boats and are reluctant to bring them to Broxbourne so we have an arrangement for some rental boats at a low cost.  Possible rental classes are Wayfarers, Flying 15, RS Qbas, Laser 1, RS Fevas.  I also may be able to add a few tasty loan boats into the mix.  We can camp on site and a bar extension for the Saturday night, after the FOM 2013 formal dinner, has been agreed to minimise the risk of raucous changing room parties  Party Beer Shocked Dead

Format to be 8 races (4 each day) with races 4 and 5 being swap boat races to be scored separately from the overall results and not compulsory.  1st signal to be at 13.00 on the 5th and no signal after 13.00 on the 6th October allowing for late arrival on the Saturday and early departure on the Sunday.

We will work on an NOR over the next week or two.

Our Commander in Chief at the FOM 2012 (no he’s not leading but, I think, retiring in a sulk Wink).
