Would love to come but dates dont suit me and as keen as my daughter is, an event of this type for a 4yr old is going to present issues, not least he fact I might have to drink less!!!!

Sounds ideal for the Graduate rather than the 700, but I shall decline the invitation this year, but set my sights on an entry in 2013.

The club may be grateful for some outside help so I will mention your offer.  It may be a couple of days before I get back on this.  Thanks so much for the offer.

Following on from the bucket list thread I am hoping that Pikeys will not be banned from the FOM in October.  How else can I transport tonnes of prizes and enough tools to carry out essential repairs on all of your old tubs (chainsaw, hammers and nails, gaffa tape)?  Also needed to take all of my prizes home with me.  I would normally stock it up with cold beer for the blokes and champagne for the ladies for the times that the bar is shut but it's looking like I will be sailing, this time, with a bunch of TTs.

OH!  Sorry but I had forgotten your wise advice and, of course, I will include these in our pikey's bar.  I might even find out of it works  Wink

Talking of taking prizes home, tomorrow I'm organising a crash and burn short racing event at the home club, 5 x 20 min. races back to back, lots of prizes, wine, etc. I thought it a great idea, far better than 3x one hour races with an hour+ between races so we can get our sandwiches out of our tupperware boxes and moan. But no, more prizes and helpers than competitors, how wrong can you, there are a lot of people old before their time, they need to liven up!!!!

Didier Poisant has been racing his Finn this August - 89 Years old this year Clap   He competed in a Finn in the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne  Thumbs Up

I should have mentioned that Didier qualifies as a Legend in the Finn Masters fleet and that he truly is.

Its a funny think about back to back races. My experience is that at AGMs and so on you get loads of people who say they're in favour of having lots of back to back races, but when it actually comes down to it they take the first possible opportunity to nip ashore for a cup of tea and a comfort break, and it will take you 45 minutes to round them up and get them out again for the next start...
