The Solution.

Well I haven't even unwrapped mine yet the weather has been so awful, blown off last wednesday going to be blown off again tomorrow with 35kts, but I understand there are now 4 down the lake according to their fb page so we have the makings of a small fleet which will make trying all those sort of things out more viable, I'd like to see pics though if you can arrange them, swivel in the ratchet doesn't mean a lot to me, is that at the back or the sticky up thing on the floor?

I used a laser type bridle on the one I had. It was adjustable and went out to allow travel to inner end of deck.
I also shortened spreaders and shrouds from the original evolution set up. The mast was then set up that when it was upright it was dead straight with about 350 lbs of tension. This was the reaching set up. I then used to let off at least a couple of inches of forestay for upwind, increasing rake once the it was overpowered keeping winding on kicker then Cunningham as it got stronger. I tended to not go for full outhall unless survival conditions. Sometimes had to put board up a little as well when honking.
On the run I used to go for a loose rig to allow boom to a little further forward, then almost no kicker. I found that sailing s curves beteween 20 degrees above then to about 20 degrees by the lea was quickest. Not heading up as some did.
This was pretty quick, and used to win club races especially on the extremes of wind strength.
Avoid going too far forward once hiking bow touching waves, not going through was a good gauge. But get transom out in the light stuff.
This got me two champs both won with a race to spare, despite some trophy hunters turning up in borrowed boats.
The hulls are great. Check centreboard for stress cracks along top join on older boats.
I have not met anyone who gave one a good go who did not like it. It is forgiving, yet devastatingly quick if sailed well and hard. Noticed there was one back a rutland this weekend, if we could get a few I would get one again.

They are more slack, so the boom can bend them a little, and so go closer to square
