no, but it is between his legs if you had to suffer the unpleasantness of his split arse wetsuit at the FOM!

Only if you are grumph Getting in once standing on the plate is easy If righting from inverted, make sure you are on top of the plate once the rig is horizontal. Then see above. To be fair, the righting lines are key - I re-rigged mine slightly. The standard fit-out is elastic only to the back which is not ideal, but it's easy enough to rectify that. What GRF needed from that dark matter for his 100 sailing, apart from anything else, was an extra foot of height and couple of stone in mass

Which to be fair was one of his (and my) complaints: there are no fast singlehanders for lightweights with or without kites that don't require lots of dedicated training just to keep the right way up (vide IC & Moth).

Out of curiousity, is n't that what the K1 was designed for? But of course the wiki-guru would not have anything to do with that because it compensates for crew weight and leverage with a keel. The one that came to our place for a demo didn't half shift I acknowledge the launching issues of course

'trip line' on the kite halyard doesn't hurt either, not possible to reach from the plate when the 100 is on it's side and cold+wet+slow if you dive in to get to it! |

Since this is a wiki, the key to getting back in that RS100 in a strong breeze and waves, is to submerge the rig upwind, which gives you enough time to get on the plate without having the whole lot come back on top of you. If you do a windward righting and dive into the bottom of the boat as it comes up, you can do it unaided by rescue craft, but it's still sketchy.
But as I said on the sail thread neither of it's rigs are a light fellas friend, even the experienced dinghy sailor I sold it to an ex MPS helm didn't see the season out with it and I think is flirting with Foiling Moths as an easier to sail option for light folk. (The only really fast option for the lighter helm but you need a more friendly beach than the one I operate off). It does get to something that you have to look at those stilt things though, there is an easy fast boat for light folk, trouble is we can't lift it and if it falls over there is not a snowballs chance in hell of getting it back up again, and it's got a bloody great hole in it. So we'll have to wait for V3... Edited by iGRF - 05 Apr 13 at 3:59pm |

didn't RS bring out a children's rig for the RS100 - a 7.4 or something? Surely you could cope with that roachless wonder?
