There's allegedly going to be a demo at Oxford later this month which I guess this boat will have to head off to, can't remember the date, and I've managed to secure one at a reasonable price so I can probably let more folk try it (and bugger about with it so it suits my half assed sailing style), that'll make two of us now as Solution Owners, Jack is going to the nationals so is keen to try it on the sea as well.
I now know why it's not going anywhere fast and have made a spirited attempt at changing that, but the jury's still out as to wether the horse will drink the water I've lead it to.

I'm hoping to get a few along to the Medway regatta weekend 18-19 July , hopefully you can join us ??

I think that may have been me in the Solution. Thank you for the thumbs up. I've only just bought the boat as a replacement for my Aero 7 which is now for sale (see classified ads - I'm open to sensible offers!) I sailed a Solo for many years and I just could not get my head round the Aero's unstayed carbon rig. It was always a toss-up between the Aero and the Solution and, for me, the Solution behaves in a similar way to the Solo, which is what I'm used to. The Solution needs a bit of breeze - it does seem to struggle in light winds. Upwind, I find you have to sit a little further back than I was expecting to stop the boat pitching forward as it heels. It's quick on a reach, and it goes well gybing down a run, as long as there's a reasonable wind. So far, I'm mixing it up with the front of the Laser fleet. I think of the Solution as a modern-day Solo - stayed mast, centreboard, decent rig controls. I think of the Aero as a modern-day Laser, but weighing half as much. If you're used to a Solo, you'll get to grips with the Solution fairly easily. If you're used to a Laser, you'll get to grips with the Aero fairly quickly, in my opinion.

Steve (White) Solution 450 (not For Sale), Aero 7 1159 (For Sale)

So far the "Weaponised" Solution (bought mid Jan sailed less than 10 times so far) has been a dream, I'd describe myself as to big for a Streaker, too crash bang for a Solo and too poor for much else. It is ideal for the lake I sail on and even though i'm already winning ocasionally it can still go much quicker. As was mentioned yet to try it on the sea but would advise anyone to have a go AND BUY ONE.

Glad to hear we have a few converts!

The demo day was planned on the assumption that the demo boat would need a couple more weeks in Kent so we're using the other demo + mine + local boat to get everyone out and hopefully have a good sail. If you're done with it down there, we've got enough names on the list to make use of another boat...

If your interest has been piqued but you can't make it to Oxford, let me know and we'll see what we can do to get another date in the diary and/or put you in touch with a local solution owner

No, really. There's loads of us out there. If you'd been at the dinghy show you'd have seen that there was more than just me & Kev on the stand this year. Folks had other people to talk to and everything.

But you've given me an idea there... how do you go about creating multiple IDs?
