I was going so you might re-consider a daggerboard the next time you've got a slot gasket to repair or replace.... bloody awful things.  But then I remembered Nessa actually likes all that sort of thing... she must have been a glue sniffer in the 80's or something.

I suspect they are kicker cleats, I don't think it's been fully fitted out in the pictures.
Needs to sail more...

Good plan.  Smile

It's about time you got that leak fixed though.  Wink

Kicker looks like it cleats on the edge of the foredeck. Weirdly, as not many Lightning sailors like my arrangement, it is exactly as I have the controls in my Lightning. I then bring the tails back to the eye for the forward mainsheet block.

They are mainsheet cleats as were supplied but not fitted to every laser. At least they have recessed the bloody things into the deck so you dont bite your arse with them every time you tack. I suppose they are needed because the traveller adjustment is so awkward at the back of the toe strap.

You know, I read the article about the show offer price on the front page, and thought I'd finally find out a price... but no. Why keep the price a secret? Makes no sense.

Seems to be the same with the RS Aero, got my mail through with show offers, barely a mention that they're even launching anything new. Certainly no Headline, order at the show, get special offer type screaming headlines, very low key, maybe they think it's going to sell itself.

It's been my experience the older and more mature a market, the more deaf and blind it becomes and the more you need to scream and shout at it in the face of all the noise from everything else from iPods, to icycles and in our case istannah lifts and izimmers with bluetooth phone capability..

Probably because they have both rushed early boats out to make the dinghy show deadline and don't want to go first!

I think they're both playing it close to their chests... seems a bit daft unless there's a really big price differential.  Plus one can sometimes go to market with a headline price, (add 2k for the optional extras),  whereas the other has a history of letting the euro FX f**k it up completely....

... interesting times.  Both should cost no more than 6k on the water with a top cover and launching trolley, let's see if either can deliver on that.
