What sort of gooseneck is that? Surely not a big bolt that suggests a rotating mast?

Dear GRF.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, however I have enough trouble hanging on. I fear fiddling with extra string on the gunwale would lose me more time than to be gained by your gadget.

Yes that's what I mean, now how about a soft trim tab between the back of the hull and the rudder? What's that added 20-30 cms?

Some very nice work on the back of Myles Farr 3.7, courtesy of Andy Patterson. Top job...

I have to say, if I had on of these, to race PY with, I'd want to be having tactical downwind racing vs the D-ones, Rs100's etc.

They are better with a gantry. Andy Patterson will be making one for 412. Main purpose is to get the tiller out of the back of the boat a bit so that when you slide aft to keep the bow up going down a big one you don't get the end of the tiller in the kidneys. Also will make the boat less twitchy.

Did I see a gantry mounted rudder/tfoil, set out a bit further or was it some other antipodean class?
