The hull is pretty robust so if you can find a boat and are prepared to spend some time tidying then you should get a decent boat.
Its mostly usual second hand stuff, but two things would look out for are a decent sail. don't worry if its a little off coloured as they stay competitive for most people for a good 5 seaasons unless you are aiming at the podium. At 60kg would be looking for a superspar mast not angel as you'll need to reef it to get the most out it above about 15 knots. the angel mast had an aluminium sleeve and tended to seize in the mast; there probably are not many left now anyway but stay clear if you can. check that the two parts come apart easily and them keep them lightly vaselined. Get yoursellf joined on the RS600 yahoo user group and you'll find loads of stuff on there and plenty of advise. happy hunting. Mark |
