Hi James
We could not have responded quickly enough with the hull we wanted to develop once we knew the 100 and D1 were on the way. Adapting the Blaze hull would always have been an unsatifactory and rushed compromise and carried with it all the commercial risks already outlined - but the test work on that platform helped enormously with deciding what could/should be done. This is why ICON development was quickly pulled forward and 'xxxx' moved back. We will now see how exactly others progress and review again in the future when appropriate. Sometimes - more haste less speed ! Mike L. |

Owners are not necessarily potential future customers.
Bit of a fundamental rule of business that. Ever heard of innovate or die? It's why the class structure keeps this silly business moribund. Er hey chaps this is a new Blaze with a kite, you can still keep your old Blaze and race it in the Blaze standard class, oh but downwind? You might find the new Blaze comes pissing past you.. Then you could buy this add on kit we developed. Your choice.. ![]() ![]() Edited by G.R.F. |

GRF said ..... "Your choice.."
Exactly exactly ...... at last the edge of understanding ! You get to choose what class you want to sail because it is the package you want. Its what you are doing now and what we in many many other classes have done already as well ... We had similar talk from Laser types years ago - but trust me you really don't all have to sail the same boats or believe that the same things are 'right' to get a kick out of racing - or respect the choices of others. 'One Way - My Way' arguments ..thats' all a bit DDR for some of us .... or is that now all M**rosoftish in todays talk. The 'silly class structure' - must have been the one that finished off the board racing scene around the UK surely ? It was not ? So who did mange to kill that market so effectively ? Exactly how did a vibrant racing scene and commercial segment of many thousands of board racers get 'mislaid' by the suppliers. They were out there each weekend, but were reduced to a few dozen in just one decade.... a case of 'over innovate & die' or perhaps simply 'churning by the suppliers' is maybe closer to the truth - no stability and no long term. The core racers could have done with a strong class association or more effective and switched-on representation to stop all the nonsence at the time. Now just get out there and enjoy your current choice(s) .... and then still come along to the Blaze Nationals with your 'back all bets - just in case' Blaze of yours. We think you really would enjoy yourself - now maybe, just maybe, that is what you suspect deep down as well .... worrying is'nt it ! ![]() Mike L. |

Exactly the same way dinghy sailing was headed before someone came along and warned y'all about building silly elitist stuff nobody but professional sailors could use. Like boats Olympic stars couldn't even sail in front of the entire prime time global TV audience.. |

All kneel down before the good lord GRF. Hail the genius that has saved us dinghy sailors from and end we had failed to see. He truly is devine. ( if not a little bitter because he couldn't sail his MPS ) |
