I think Hayling is a very well designed clubhouse - but it has it drawbacks. Nothing for the families to do locally. And if you sail in the bay you go out for hours and there is no sailing to watch as it is so far away.

Last year at our nationals it felt like we almost reached the IOW before we started racing.

The clubhouse at Sheppey is just 10m from the water at high tide. Beat that for a sea sailing venue! The only trouble is they built a seawall in front of the clubhouse ; before that the bar was virtually on the start line. Hopefully, we'll be in a position to build an extension in the not to distant future.

At Lee on Solent our Clubhouse is a 5 minute walk down the road from the dinghy park, mind u we do have a small signal station right down  on the shore, although it doesnt have a bar, or, bizarely, toilets.

it is, the nearest public toilets r'nt that far away tho, but since the signal station has showers it seems a little odd that nobday thought of putting toilets in when they built it.
