having read the other posts above; it would seem as though you were perhaps looking for a more dynamic club.  Remember that the WPNSA are newcomers to the area and tend to be run as a 'corporate' sailing events organisation by equally corporate people (that may sound a little harsh - but true).  There hasn't been a history of a sailing club on that site as it was totally Naval and only accessible for Naval personnel or members of the RNSA. (we used to use a greasy spoon for refreshment that has since been demolished to make way for a car park...!) .  having said that; the RNSA Portland do have a vibrant social life and are always welcoming.  We use the hard standing at the WPNSA to haul the boats out of the water in the winter and there is a useful dingy park.

Thankyou Richard I knew that there would be one smart guy out there who would point that out - perhaps you need to get out more or perhaps do something more useful than look at responses to old posts; not a hugely polite or helpful remark.

Don't know if I am getting old (I am only 39) but when did manners and common courtesy cease to be part of everyday life?

Grovelling apologies to the blogosphere; I really didn't intend to upset anyone.  I came across this site looking for other information in a hurry and thought that as a blog; someone else might want to access information on the WPNSA that might be useful irrespective of the time lag.  I assume that's why these blogs are kept alive and not cut when the initial question is answered.  Having received a sarcastic reply I foolishly fired off a response without thought.  End of story. Sorry.

This isn't a blog. It's a forum.

Hi Phryne
Sadly, as well as interested and welcoming sailors,
someone taught the plankton to write here as well.
Unfortunately their IQ is about the same level as their age.
(about 12 I think), and with little consideration or manners
I found your information useful. Thank you, and look forward
to hearing more from you on other subjects especially from a
RNSA perspective.
