I'd check your boots first as GK.LaserII suggested.

I've found that Aigle Boras while really grippy in the 49er were cr*p in the 600 & 700. I've generally gone for Teva Protons but they seem to be as easy to get hold of as rocking horse sh*t, so ended up with a pair of Palm "Granite" boots which I have since found to be excellent for use on RS non slip surfaces.

algeos.com yes i know it says it's shoe insole but that's all progrip really is. Really great stuff, grippy as hell plus cheaper than anywhere else (i have seen)

Magic Marine skiff boots are grippier than anything and stay on your foot! They stopped me slipping round the 29er

I only recently bought some new boots thinking they'd solve the problem... but didn't!

We spent sunday adding some industiral grip tape to key parts of the B14- some really cheap stuff for less critical areas, 3M stuff in more critical areas. The cheap stuff is somewhat sandpaper like, but in thory it should just be the soles of our boots or (on the foredeck in marginal conditions) my hike pants that will take damage. Avoided Pro-Grip as it adds a lot of weight to the boat- especially when wet.

you can use clear varnish instead of epoxy or paint for the sugar technique, thats what my brother did when he built a windsurfer, it worked pretty well.

Think about theaesthetics though, if u make a mucky job of it it might be difficult to sell the boat as people always want something that looks good! Wax is a less permanent alternitive.
