but i doubt anyone seeing one would think 'i want to learn to sail in that' in reality it is hideous, an embaressment to the sailing world. and with the race pack it will probably be much more expensive than the oppi. for learning to sail you have oppi's for the kids, toppers for those in between and pico's for adults. why is there a need for another one? especially when you can reef both pico's and toppers. and they are all nicer to look at. rant over |

I thought that the first time I saw an Oppi, I guess we're all used to them now. Let's face it the Oppi has got to be the silliest "looking" boat around. It looks like something out of willy wonkers chocolate factory. |

Not sure about what the kids think but who makes the choice, the kids or their pushy parents. Never sailed an oppi and I'm sure they are a good design for little uns but I would think kids by preference would like to sail a cool looking boat, they are more aware of image these days.....Agreed, The Bug isn't cool
but it's no worse than the oppi. Laser missed an opportunity. Edited by GK.LaserII |

It looks better than an Oppie - and younger kids will go for it, especially if it is really stable. From a sailing school POV I would have thought the front wheel and handles would be a real advantage. |

DO you have to lift them from the stern, because I can see that being a sailing clubs nightmare when the kids bend down to pick them up and get cropped by the boom as they stand up with it!

The handles at the back will also encourage kids to hold the boat at the back which is never a good idea!
