Yep.

That is John's winter project I believe.  (having said that he's building 2 more F16's at the moment that he did not have orders for when I picked mine up !!!!!)  




F16 looks like the way to go to me... I'm even thinking about one as a confirmed Monohuller! I sailed one earlier in the year and was very impressed.

But there is a down side it seems cat insurance is very high and trailers cost a bomb!

Doesn't have too ! Don't be put off !

some of the cheapest cats I've had have been most successful ,

 Unicorns cheap fast and last ,

old A classes faster than most cats in lighter winds including tornadoes and F18

 

You can get very cheap H5.9's now still competitive

Lots of good older cats out there to get you going ,

Insurance , not relatively exspensive , I know skiff sailers paying more than me for my two year old Stealth 18 sxl , specialist cat insurance companies are best ,

if you fancy an olympic specced Tornado worth £12 k plus expect to pay more !

Trailers , loads lying around the country , most second hand cats come with them , infact cheapest way to get one is to buy an ancient scrapper boat on good trailer (they aren't as rare as you think ) and have a bonfire !

or the "pikey route" get an ole caravan base from scrappies and convert ,

anyway plenty of choice for a speedy cat .

Stealth 16's on internet second hand £3-4 K , seems pretty reasonable to me considering there youthfullness .

 

F18ht , ht is for High Tech , a lot lighter than F18 , allow carbon etc in construction , likened to two man A class with a kite , popular in europe and america.

If you do fancy the pikey route, then I will have a caravan base ready for use as a trailer in the new year.

Was going to Ebay it but if anyone on here wants the start of a cat trailer feel free to pm me.

both the 3k er's are 'R's i.e not as wide and diff sail plan. the other's are touching 6k when you add a trailer, so I don't see where you get 3-4k from?

One @3200 is not a kick of the pants off and fits F16 rules, would get someone going ,here's its description from the add , so it may be 3" narrower (or whatever )

Description Stealth 2001, very tidy boat, set up as a F16 sailplan + jib with spinnaker and snuffer, refurbed in 2005 so pretty clean on the hulls, launching trolley, two mains ( original and F16 ), still very competitive, save yourself £ 6700 on a new boat that does the same job ( and that means lots of holidays ), road trailer and box available if required.

I also heard that Mark P's boat that he won this years F16 Nationals or whateverit was called will be coming up for sale in similar price bracket , though I hear perhaps JP is weaving some magic on it which may affect its price.

Neither of these are in  old format Stealth R

Both prob will need trailers (i  guess ) , but there's always the pikey option !!,

my point being that you can buy older stealths which will be competitive in the right hands under F16- Mark P has proved that  , may not keep winning for tons of years to come , f16 IS a developement class .

Didn't mean to come across rude, if you took it that way?

I've already been to see the boat in question and it is an 'R'.

But you are right about boats in the right hands / development class etc

anyway this is a thread about Dart 6000! But I think I might of threadjacked it
myself so I'm shutting up now!
