Finding a boat in which two Finn sailors can compete fairly against a couple of Oppi sailors is an impossible task and it would be a shame to leave the youngsters out in the cold in the interests of giving a few more big guys a chance. I don't know the Endeavour conditions of entry though, do both sailors have to be from the class they represent or can the Phantom rep pick a lightweight crew?

Andy Couch, Phantom champ, has been teaching his son by sharing an Oppy with him recently. Clearly he has the crew ( and the skills!) . They just need a rule adjustment! |

You can sail with whoever you like, so no drama re a rules adjustment! A boat with a ideal weight of 125-130kgs is just a little shy in my opinion.
If there was something that could take 130-150 would be perfect. That boat may not exist though!! I completely agree that the nippers should be included. It is great when they fire in a good result. Everyone loves that

I'd have said anything bigger than a 200 would put it out of reach of the typical Oppi/Tera/Topper 4.2 helm. They are at as much of a disadvantage as the 90kg helm as it stands.

A shame indeed that Alto didn't catch on, it would be ideal for that event and it would be interesting to see if and when using the swinging pole and sailing deep, tactically beat pursuing hot angles.
I'd love to watch that with a bunch of top guys, point of fact I've always wanted to go up and watch that event anyway, I never seem to catch any pre publicity for it, by the time I get to hear about it it's already day two. I agree the 200 isn't ideal, but a lot of folk have sailed them and it is a testing boat. |

A 2000 would be a better choice. Fairly underpowered but carries weight.
The 200 is a bit too sensitive. |

Yes, and they are plentiful, easier to use, so better to use across a mix of helms from different classes. |
