One of the major reasons why I've never completed in getting a cat a couple of years ago... a complete change on social groups.  I don't really understand it, cats have PYs just like monohulls.  Shame- a cat ticks the easy sailing / with fast speed boxes that so many sailors seem to want... entire classes have been developed for sailors wanting an 'MPS which doesn't fall over at the slightest windshift'... when in truth, a cat like a Shadow or even Topper 14ft jobby, would easily fit the bill.

Or the V Twin?

exactly- if ever there were a candidate for a beach cat it would be the inglorious designer of the V-Twin.

Suggest you enter as a cat class (but prepared to switch),  then let's see how many more we get

I think this has the potential for being "THE" handicap event of 2013 - let's hope it is a success!

It certainly makes more sense to attribute that moniker to one specific event, with one set of NOR/SIs and one agreed race format than the SailJuice Series... which imho seems to have morphed from its original intentions somewhat into something altogether different, whilst not necessarily enhancing the individual events themselves.

There is only ONE handicap event of the year, thats the Lord Birket, which IMO is a true celebration of all things great in the amature dinghy racing scene.

I might make a late decision on whether to come.  Will the number of entries be capped?
