Number of people looking to buy boats
number of people looking to sell boats
Values of used boats
Cost of a 'competitive' boat
Number of boats there to race against, nationals, circuit and club.

10% of the fleet for sale would only imply people change, on average, every 10 years.
There is probably a higher %age of the competitive UK Cherub fleet for sale at the moment. But that does not mean anything in terms of the future of the class.

Unless you make the old boats obsolete, nobody is going to rush to buy a new one.

Not I should point out do I have the remotest interest in this boat, it's just as usual my three happorth, my pal has one, think he might jump if it had something 'special' going on.

Are they not boats that male/female teams like to  use, another reason for it to be lighter.

the problem is if you reduced the weight you would make the entire existing class obsolete , which in the current financial climate could be a suicidal plunge off a cliff  leading to  the boat becoming an orphan  and the existing boats  becoming less valuable still ...  an excellent way to send the RS400 sailors back to the classes they came from  (e.g. Ent, GP , MR, or symetric single wire boats )

I wonder how the voting is going?

What will happen to events like Abersoch (non RS events) if the changes go through?

Just to be clear - it's not a carbon foredeck is it? It's a layer of non structural carbon to make it look pimp (well, possibly), I think.
Suprised only 49 votes. Apathy rules.

A lot of people seemed to be fairly neutral about some of the changes.
It doesn't mean you're not committed to the class if you don't have a strong opinion on re-shaping the thwart.
It will be interesting to see how the credit cards vote over the next year or so, that's the acid test!
