Yes I would like to know as well. My boat is 311 and it does not have it - boat was purchased in March this year.

Number 358 has just arrived at our club and it has the mod.

A while ago on the RS100 website someone posted about how they had pitchpoled their 100, I can now confirm it is possible having done several of them on wednesday night at warsash! It was too busy in the river for me to safely put my kite up and was gusting 30+ knots with wind against tide and the waves were steep!  If you didnt pick the low spots in the waves perfectly then even with me hiking out the back and on the 8.4 it was just diving.  Saved a few of them but i think i managed 3 in total.  Didnt capsize any other way, just pitchpoles! I have sailed in that breeze before and with the kite the boat is perfectly managable, but in a crowded river i thought it was not a good idea to risk running down a capsized 4.7 or mirror with a couple of small kids in it!

Hi all, Re. the mast bands....we are getting retro kits from Selden (not here yet), which will go out FOC soon. It is not hard to do. If you would like have it fitted - it can be done while you wait by RS at Chandlers Ford, or one of our Dealers. The bottom mast only is required so will go in some cars or on a roof rack.
Rob Eastwood in customer care is chasing up Selden and will be in touch.

Cheers,
Nick.

magic thanks for update Nick.
I did the last sleeve upgrade last year myself and it was great as there were very clear instructions went with it from Rob/Selden.
I suspect this should be OK for most of us aswell.
Cheers,
Keith.

Nick can you just give us a brief description of what is involved please. I am not sure if I have the tools or competence to be cutting into a carbon mast at a high stress area.

Luckily I work just up the road from Chandlers Ford Smile

Definitely no cutting into carbon!!!!!!!! the stainless band is very thin - .25mm from memory and simply needs gluing to a gently sanded area. Rob Eastwood had done it before....better leave the detail to him.
See you at CF, then...
Nick.
