Oh good grief guys. The difference between 1025 and 1035 is 1% remember, the difference between say me and a National champion is around 10%. Crazy getting worried about such small differenceso
.

You say that Jim but for a lot of people 10 py points is around 30 seconds over an hour. This can make a real difference in close racing.

Does kind of blow their claim away that an Aero 5 is quicker than a Standard rigged Laser though.....

I note in the Rspeculation thread in March, I estimated:

"Interestingly, my predictor suggests 1031 for the Aero 9.  You'll need to be Phantom-sized to sail it across the wind range with that rig, though, I reckon.

For comparison, I'm getting 1055 for the Aero 7 (for ordinary mortals) and 1130-ish for the Aero 5.   You read it here first   Wink "

Which makes me think that the 9 is about right, the 5 is indeed likely to be somewhat harsh - possibly very much so in the light stuff - and the 7 should be on a good wicket.

I seem to recall 1105 or so maybe a little slower.

The aero 9s at emsworth were sailing off 1040, the same as d-0.

The aero 9 was originally slatted at 1045. Its now quicker than the blaze? I suspect thats being influenced by the shifty puddle that is bowmoor.

Quicker than a Blaze on the sea- not a chance in any breeze. in sub planing conditions its may be up there but there is no way it will be close to a Blaze in any breeze.

I be looking for an Aero 9 to beat a Blaze in lighter winds - probably has less wetted area - and in marginal planing conditions when it should up and go before the Blaze, especially if there is a fair bit of reaching.
