Cor blimey  Shocked

It's a Porsche cut and shut  Unhappy  Worse than that it's pretending to be one of the most lethal Porsches ever, a 917, truth is it's probably more lethal than the real thing  Thumbs Down  I'm told that a real 917 will set you back a cool 2,000,000 USD or thereabout  Wink

I have always wondered about the imposter  Confused

At least this gets the thread back onto sailing and, hopefully, the Icon and not a Laser again (please)  Smile

I think we should because he really doesn't look very cheerful considering he has a 917K at home Wink

Blaze/ mike, looking at RS400 posts today. Any news on iCON class rules yet? Any updates on the boat, final specs etc?

Hi Scotsfinn

The boat is standardised ie 'as supplied' like most SMOD boats.  However free choice of sheeting systems for main and jib is permitted and toe-straps.... Any control systems can have extra purchases added or altered BUT no additonal controls are permitted.   The only restriction is that you are not allowed to drill addiitonal or replacement mounting holes in the hull (to stop the eletric drill brigade getting carried away).  Use of a bit of inginuity works well and allows reasonable personalisation without the cheque book getting over-used !

These rules are/will be vitually identical to those applyied to the Blaze.   We don't tell you how to tie your laces and you have a fair bit of freedom to alter but the rules keep all the key items strictly single-source and one-design.  It works for most owners rather well in our experience.

We are due to meet with Devoti in Poland soon to 'sign-off' the boat and production and I think this rule approach will be rubber-stamped by all along the way.  You can also safely assume your Icon will be supplied with a full Harken fit-out as standard as that is the Devoti norm.

Mike L.

PS- Talk with Rodney / Devoti direct about your delivery etc.  We do of course market the boat as well (that is Cirrus) and will always halp / advise any owner but best to follow Suntouched on your particular order.

Sounding good. Am in touch with Rodney. Just keen to hear how the rules were going to go together. Looking forward to a touch of bimbling.

Any news .... As posted elsewhere the other threads are getting boring, there is only so much anyone can write about fast pins!
Someone must be sailing an iCON or bimbling it somewhere despite the cold and the wet. SAVE US ALL FROM TERMINAL BOREDOM  Disapprove
