Don't the rules when switched on just allow you use pumping to promote planing? No requirement therefore to succeed. So presumably it is irrelavent if your boat is capable or incapable of planing, whatever that might be. So fan your sails to your heart's content.

Err, No.
Here's some study for you. The Laser guidelines will be a reasonable match for the Aero I should think. http://www.sailing.org/raceofficials/rule42/ http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/Rule42Laser201320032014-%5b16804%5d.pdf Edited by JimC - 14 Aug 15 at 8:01pm |

71 pre-entered for the Nationals at Weymouth this weekend. If they all show up, that'll be hats-off to the Aero's I'd say.

Yes trophy choice was interesting! Sadly can't be there for family reasons, but watching Simon Hiscocks sailing one will be interesting. Not that I would see him after the 5 minute gun even if I was there.....

Any idea of the entry split between the three classes?

Well, if everyone entering chipped in an extra tenner the CA could probably afford a reasonable perpetual for next year, especially if you could persuade RS to match the contribution. Still be pretty naff compared to the selection of Victorian and Edwardian silverware on offer at the Canoe Nationals of course, but face it, few fleets can compete with that lot...
They don't really have one do they, what with the unusual bits in the Class rules and the promotion of multiple rigs? Isn't it liable to depend on the weather forecast? Edited by JimC - 26 Aug 15 at 1:24pm |
