The Buzz is hull and fittings.

I imagine that the RS500 is the same and includes the fittings, but am not sure. Also, despite owning many RS boats over the years I've never weighed one so do not know how the real weight compares to the stated weight.

This is a one-off so may not be universal... At Sailfest last year Richard Woof (builder of many of the 300s until recently) had his build-bible with him and told us the weights of all our hulls, weighed when they came out the moulds. Mine was 53.9kg and the other 300s were all within 0.5kg. (The advertised hull weight is 58kg, which I imagine includes rope & fittings (not much in a 300)).

You can get a good raceable one from about £3000!

Check the A Class website.

Probably gone the same way as many pics viewed via Android o/s.

Alternatively, have you been using iGRF's modern wooden PC?

I was struck by how similar the Farr hull was to the Streaker next to it.

I know. But honestly, they weren't all that different in proportion, chine line, and general topside appearance. Probably they are different underwater, but I didn't lay on the floor to check. The guy from Butler even told me they used Streaker panels (or was it frames?) when putting together the Farr tooling, so closely did they match.

so basically buy an old streaker and add a contender rig to it?

I really like the Farr.  Being dole scum I am free to watch such daytime tv gems as 'Wanted Down Under' one episode based in NZ showed a beach with five 3.7s having a great sail.  I rewound several times to check!  And why wouldn't they be popular, they tick every box for the lightweight trap sailor.

But I thought the one at the Show was disappointing because the colour scheme didn't show off the wood or rig to best advantage.  Maybe a darker colour would have been better, who knows.
the same, but different...
