The American Magic guys have made a right mess of 'Patriot', Terry Hutchings said in the press conference that a frame had punched through the hull when they landed from their 'Airbus impression' not a battery or other hardware. The hydraulics have remained intact but they will replace the rams, pumps and accumulators with the ones from 'Defiant'.

and a complete re-wire... I was up at 3am on Sunday watching all the racing Live (and the catastrophic capsize and eventual partial sinking and recovery). Anyone who says the AC isnt exciting and doesnt look like match racing anymore, needs to watch Sundays re-runs - Ineos v Luna Rossa was some great tactical play. Huge respect to these sailing atheletes.

Terry Hutchinson looked close to breaking point in that long morning conference but respect for taking the heat and carrying on. Despite the drama, nothing on BBC, American football and baseball but no sailing.
The racing is better than I thought it would be, the graphics needed some work, hate the way they scroll around. Looking forward to next weekend, a weeks a long time in AC

Interesting interview. I have worried about Terry Hutchinson's quality as a team lead after Iain Percy replaced him at Artemis. However I thought he did a pretty good job in the press conference. His face did drop a bit when it came to the questions from the floor when he was asked not very imaginative variations on a theme of the questions he was asked by Bruno Trouble, but whose wouldn't.

They are out of this weekend racing - not the whole thing
So either GBR or ITA will go straight to the challenger finals and AM will sail against the other in a week or so ? |
