Following a couple of posts about what if..

This morning you discover you have a massive rebate from the moron tax..

You have untold wealth, what dinghy would you buy?
(And interestingly how long would you then have to wait for it.)

Wouldn't make any difference to me. I have the boat I want. A new one is on the project list, but hours in the day is a bigger limiter than money, and it wouldn't be nearly as much fun to have somone else do all the work rather than complete the boat myself.

I forgot to put what I'd do.

I'd make them build me an upgraded Alto with a carbon deck & boom, wash through design without those stupid self baler thingies and made by someone who can build it to a sensible weight.

Then or while I'm waiting, I'd buy an RS800, watching those boys at the round sheppy, it looks everything I'd like at this stage, off like a scalded cat, yet relatively user friendly, I'd have to hire a pro crew of course.

Get a new RS100 as a spare so when mine goes wrong I just switch into it, no, I'd have them each rigged with the different sail, so I'd have two more.

I'd get my V2 project going, trouble is I keep learning new stuff that makes some of my earlier ideas unnecessary, whatever I'd do it anyway, money being no object.

If I mastered the 800, I'd get a 49er and see if I couldn't fit things to make it work properly in big seas..

And I'd buy a new Contender, start off perhaps where I should have done all along.

Firstly it would have to be a custom made B14 with reinforced underside so it could be used at Hythe without fear it will break at the first sign of a wave.
Secondly an RS800 for when the B14 is being built. This boat might also give good fleet racing at Hythe if a few other apart from Graeme got one.
And if I had anything left I like the look of the Transition Double bikes you have Graeme.

With the winnings, you'd be able to devote the hours you wished though surely? it wouldn't be buying you the boat so much as buying you the time.

For me I would have a 100 because I don`t find Trapising comforable & it ticks most if not all the boix`s
I would have a AC because I have always amired them usually from behind.
& lastly a Phantom for club sailing

49er for those perfect wind days. Obviously wouldn't take it out in anything above 12kts.
Mach2 Moth. Just to see if I really am too heavy.
The new 4000 that Sailboats still have just to piss off the other 4K sailors in our club.
RS100 for Saturdays. RS800 for Sundays.

I would also have to buy Castle Cove SC to be allowed sufficient dinghy park space to store them all.
