Having just read the article on the drink being developed by Skandia and the Uni of Aberdeen for Cowes week sailors i had to chuckle and double check the date.

http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/?article=16794

Then after thinking about it i realised the Uni of Aberdeen are on a sure fire winner.
All they need to do is buy up a container of Irn Bru and they have and instant sailors recovery tonic, just ask any Scotsman, and they can spend the rest of the year lying back and thinking of the best way to squander their well earned grant on repackaging.

You can even get it in Hamble these days.

Or maybe it is a conspiracy between Barr's and the Uni of Aberdeen?

One of the best start line tactics is to take a big bite out of a mars bar and chew it until its pretty liquified, then take a big swig of bru and mix it with the mars bar.

As the boats come together for the start make sure that the nearest boat sees you as you spit the lot out over the side.  If they're proper sailors (hungover) it'll start a chain reaction of sick all the way through the fleet.

Anybody else think Irn Bru and a Mars bar tastes like Turkish Delight?

Or are my taste buds just ruined?

Irn-Bru is beautiful, mind you, you can't beat Red-Bull to give you that extra kick

Any one tried red-bru?  I think you can guess what that is.  Advert sould go something like:

"Red-Bru, gives you iron wings!"
