New blocks. They look pretty good, reasonably priced etc but why doesn't anyone stock them? The only distributor listed on the Allen website doesn't appear to stock them as there not on their website?
Seems suspicous to me. |

We will be stocking the Ezi-Ti's and most of the range of Allen products. They are not quite in stock yet, however they will go on are site as soon as they do. Smight shall I put your name down for five A2030GTI's |

Thanks Adam, on the house of course
Although if the ezi-ti's are just a different way of attaching the original dynamic blocks i think i will stick with the harken carbo 40's which i think run better and seem to last longer.

I really like the 20mm dynamic blocks, which APS handles over here. Id like to see more avilability of Allen stuff. not knocking Harken at all, or Ronstan either for that matter, but larger catalogues are always beneficial . sometimes a mm here or there can make the difference, and variety between suppliers improves the chances fo finding exactly the right solution.

Yep, those tie only blocks look pretty useful. I always hate putting rope round thin metal straps or having extra shackles.

its interesting that with alot of sailors on this forum think harken is better. Not saying harken is bad but they are not better than allen blocks. We sail 200 days a year give or take 10 days, we use allen blocks and we have never had a block fail on us. We do replace blocks but its normally because they start to look old and its just no worth the risk. The only reason why blocks do break is because you do not wash them out or have put the wrong block on for that job.
The new Ezi-ti blocks are really good. We have been using them on our top block (which before the only block that was good enough was the old holt blocks that they stopped making years ago). We have been using it on our mainsheet strops, jib track and anywhere that you can tie it on. Its loads lighter than traditional blocks and workls really well with a bit of 3mm dyenmma or vectran. |

allen, and holt are fine. we have hever really found a fault with them. the only things that are crap are the auto-ratchets, but i just think thats a general problem with all makes and models.

Is that price listed for the A2030GTI correct?
I'll not be paying that much for a pulley much like I won't be paying £200 for a harken rig tension guage. |

they're having a laugh if it is. No pulley is worth that much unless it was enscrusted with diamonds, came with 'auto-windshift tracking', complimentary hot bow girl, and turned into a pint of beer and a pizza at the end of racing... |
