Nothing really surprising in there aside from the Laser continuing to get slower.

Yep I saw that - amazing really because I am sure that the changes to the XD control systems must have made it much slower to sail (!!!)

More like the mk2 sails and carbon top sections... but I guess there are still a lot of knackered mk1 sails out there and not many carbon top sections yet.

Laser sales are down to about 2000 a year lately, from a peak of 10,000?

So the average Laser is getting older?

I wouldn't be surprised if a brand new Mk1 sail was slightly faster than a new Mk2, for many people sailing typical PY races at inland clubs?
It's a 1 point change with an uncertainty of  maybe 10 points.

The Firefly and 29er look like big changes based on not much data?

In my view it's the better Laser sailors moving to fleet only sailing or squads or to other classes, leaving the mid fleet racers and occasional sailors to contribute to the RYA returns. RS Aero 7 & 9 have got faster as a consequence I believe. The PY list seems to be making most things faster except the boats new racers go into which have become slower over the last few years.

The 800 stays cruelly locked on 799. FFS, can no-one at the RYA just sort this out. It clearly should be 800 for the sake of everyone's sanity.

The Hornet seems to have dropped off the PN list to an experimental number, but the Seafly is back!

A three boats sailed every weekend could achieve 327 races (L&L S C completed 119 Sunday races in 2018), two could do it they sailed a couple of times a week in the season.......
