Oh dear is that my boat? I couldn't get down there yesterday the road was blocked with fallen trees and God knows what else, it was exactly my intention to tie that thing down as the windsurfers the night before said they might be having a good day sunday, can't say we got much warning for exactly how windy that became. Our power was out all day and the road closed.
Somebody might have phoned or texted, isn't that what belonging to clubs means? |

Was the photo taken by a club member ?
Surely the first thing a reasonable club mate would do would be to contact the owner (even just to say that they had put the boat back on its trolley etc) - not post some daft photo ? |

Might want to take a view on putting boats back on their trollies as I'm fairly certain a member at our club made a claim against the club some years back on the basis that the boat was damaged putting it back on the trailer. I think policy is now, boats are left untouched and owners contacted.

Particularly if it's sat fairly happily on the grass. If it's rolling about on gravel on concrete, it would be best to put it back on the trolley. It is unfortunate that so many clubs still don't have adequate provision for tying boats down. Most insurance policies insist on this, but how many of us don't or can't comply? |
