Boats like the Volvo 65's put the crew inside?
Looking at all the water that floods across the deck surly the crew would be safer, drier, warmer and thus more efficient if they were under cover? Just a thought? Ian

I do agree but it is a race, and if its faster to make the boats slipperyer so that they water flows over them better and the crew stay safe, warm dry, fighting fit etc......

They spend more than half there time below decks any way dont they? and it coud be a large clear canopy so they can still see out, just keep the weather off them

New Open 60s have sliding canopies to protect the cockpit.
In a Volvo, there's a lot of protection from the stack. |
