And they have the best kit!

I assume it's because people like to support the underdog and partially in order to keep the cup in Europe.

Personally I can't support any team that shares a sponsor with the Woolwich Pikies.

I like the name Luna Rosa  and they seemed like the underdogs!
But I am all for the Brits at heart!

I wanted LR to win just so the cup would be guaranteed to stay in europe, at least then it should be easy to go and see Origin in the 33rd cup.

Mr H said the same Charlie,

** Easy to go and see
** In europe we get LIVE tv coverage...this would not happen if it were held round 'tother side' it would take place in middle of night!  would they even bother showing it on tv here?

Thanks for all the reactions to my first post   All good points - and I agree it would be a lot easier to stay in Europe to see Team GBR compete in the Cup final in 2009

Well Luna Rossa are out and it's New Zealand v Alinghi in the final. We'll see the same two boats we saw in Auckland 4 years ago in Valencia in on 23rd June.

Just thought I'd rub it in.

Grant Dalton has done a super job of getting ETNZ back to it's rightful position.

Hey Laser, sounds like you support NZ....

So I s'pose everyone else on the thread now hopes Alinghi get the cup?... don't get me wrong - I do see the attraction of keeping it in Europe, but...

We shall see!

No guarantee it stays in Europe if Alinghi get it, they may put it out to tender again, and Dubai are itching to get there hands on it.

I'm predicting 5-0 in the final, though no idea though to which team.

And in a way it'd be nice to see the cup fought over in NZ just to see some proper windy races
