The ally sticked boats aren't much slower... B14's fly no matter what state the rig and sails are in, if the mast points skyward and the sails aren't falling to bits then a good breeze will easily see results as above!

500sq/ft of downwind sail...

True, my brother used to have a B14 - but unless its blowing old boots and you got that, well now i find, quite frankly little 30sqm kite up its just rubbish. SOO stable and you have to hike! think thats my main concern!!

But good in big sea and big breeze for a play!

30 sq/m kite small, this coming from a guy with a username "andy_cherub", remind me how big the kites are on Cherubs?!

TBF mate anything will feel stable after sailing a 12 footer.  Do reckon we'd have you round a course as you'd probably spend more time upside down than sailing

Well the andy_cherub was made when I was sailing a cherub - anyone know how to asign a new username?? & yer, I do sail a 12ft skiff! Learing to sail it now, 3 times in a row and not a single capsize! haha - mustnt of been trying hard enough! (ps - B14's have different sized kites I found out, I once laid my 21sqm cherub kite ontop of a B14 and it was about the same size!!)

ps - the other (more experienced) 12ft skiff was pacing the 18's around the course with both boats running the No1 rig and has been known to finish infront of the 49ers around the course! Im yet to test this out - Need more time on the water, but getting the hang of this no guts no glory real sailing! But in 5 knots of wind we were twining up and downwind, 11.5 knots with the kite up, 700's jus sat there and 49ers crew up front, and helm stood by the mast - as we twin by!!  Even if the racings sh*t - still come off the water with a smile! For me, 12ft skiff sailing is just the best in the World! (matter of my own opion, dont mok it til uve tried it!)
