I think you'll find we prefer the term southern softies or panzies or pussies
rather than jessies. We feel it's more politically correct as the people with

Scotland in the Summer.
They are known as "raining".

The Midges are trained only to attack the sassanachs !!!!

Having lived and sailed all of my 42 years up here, we do get midges, but the plus point far outweigh the hassle.

lol......however I was thinking of the delights of the Northumberland coastline, which are thankfully midge free.

I blame the wives.

When a sailor drags his/her other half to an event, the non-sailors are going to give their blessing based on whether the location will give a good week's holiday.

Devon good, Scotland bad. That's what my wife says anyway! Shame, as I'd like to go to Scotland one day, even without a boat....
