TT my dear fellow, welcome to the fold.  The answer is very simple.  Go here www.middle-age-shred.co.uk and meet up with a load of like minded folk, there will be some in your area.  Some have never stopped skating since the 70's and others like myself started again as part of the turning 40 midlife crisis. Sometimes we just book a skatepark for a few hours and have it to ourselves, (the kids can't afford to do that ), but if younger kids do become a pain I find a simple 'F"*$ off nob jockey' normally does the trick.

Be warned the forum contains swearing and sometimes they say nasty things about each other (so you will fit right in).

Glad you appreciate the gayness of rollerblades or 'fruitbooters' as they are affectionately known.

If you are into longboards just get out there an cruise but if you're into ramps then get some pads, it does hurt a bit more than a few years ago.

As for the looking like a tit, well it's just something that I thought you would have learned to live with by now

Me last weekend

Impress them by eating a pot of jellied eels, whilst sailing by the lee, skilfully spitting the eel bones over the side.

Particularly liked the '12 pack of Jaffa Cakes' is just right for helm and crew to share between races.

But for those singlehanded sailors out there feeling neglected; don't depair, can I recommend sailing the RS Vareo or Musto Skiff- with the spinnaker onboard, it kinda feels like you're crewing downwind, therefore it's perfectly acceptable to eat all 12 cakes by yourself as you're doing the crew's job too!

This is fine for those with a spin for down wind, but what are those of us with just one sail to do? I don't want the girls sailinf radials to think that I'm fat!

TT, what you describe is not domestic duties but MANS WORK.

This type of work cannot be rushed, it is all in the planning, and that can take some time. Unfortunately the fairer sex do not understand this and want it all done NOW.

I find that if you explain to the little lady in your life that the preparation is the most important element of said work and you have been preparing to do it for a while now, she will not totally understand (what with it being MANS WORK). So a simple "Oh, don't worry dear, of course you can't fully understand, what with you being a girl and this being MANS WORK" should give you plenty of time to carry on the preparation whilst sailing.

yes it has been known to cause a bit of discomfort but just tell yourself that they are screams of joy

What a waste... You can have my dead squash balls for free; I'll keep the next one that goes pop, just for you

*Edit*

I wonder if your tiller extension is faster and bouncier depending on the colour/number of dots on the ball...

[[/QUOTE]

So I take it you can't carry the boat straight through from the front door to the back (on its side obviously) ? I seem to remember this being one of the 'essential criteria' we had when looking at houses. I'm sure the estate agents thought we were mad as badgers.

That realy is a good idea a little easyer to do with a cherub than a contender, and I spose if it dosent fit you can just cut the the cherub in half then put it back together again

Sorry TT but for the first time I am completely stumped.

You mention an area of which I have no knowledge.  I am unaware of any man (real man that is) who has any 'domestic responsibilities'.

If you are refering to that push along thing that sucks up dirt, that lives near the metal flattening out thing, all of which seem to appear from the same part of the house that my meals appear (never go in that room) then I cannot help.

If you are using the term 'domestic responsibilities' as some kind of slang for what is required of you in the marital bed then drop me a pm and I'll direct you to some very educational web sites.

Dave.

Dude, I wasn't planning on actually BUYING the boat. Do you know how much debt I'm in?

It's just if you were dead I could adopt it for you, put a mahoosive kite on, and call it the RS TT in your honour. Alas, no luck.
