How very sad, I saw him at GP Worlds and he seemed such a nice jolly man.

Not only won the Endeavour twice as a helm but also once as a crew in '94, so says the Endeavour website.

Seriously talented sailor and a quiet unassuming guy.  I didn't know him well, but  I know he was well respected and liked.  He was always quick to smile and say hi, and I'm sure he'll leave a big hole in many fleets and many lives.

Sympathy to all who he has left behind.

Very sorry to hear about this, he was a great bloke and a really good sailor. My most sincere
condolences to all his family and friends.

I hope that Speed Sails will continue.

Very sad loss,  only tallking to Richard on Thursday who has been very supportive of my son's Mirror sailing,  who won his first championship race on Saturday using Speed Sails.

Our thoughts are with Richard's family and all at Speed

This is very sad news; Richard was a great sailor and an even better bloke ...

Our thoughts are with Richard's family at this time.

Richard Estaugh was an inspiration. His support for our efforts with the
magazine provided us with a boost on many, much-needed occasions. We
enjoyed celebrating his successes and valued his comments and thoughts
over the years.

I am thankful for his life and all it gave to so many, but so very sad at the
loss... my deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

If you're not smiling, do something about it :o)

Desperately sad to hear of Richard's death. I didn't know him well, but he seemed like a very decent bloke. I'm sure the sailing community will rally round and offer all the help and support that Richard's family, friends and work mates could wish for.

Richard achieved so much in the sailing world and earned a lot of respect and made a lot of friends along the way.
