Someone famous once said that Horses are "dangerous at both ends, and uncomfortable in the middle". Broke my arm falling off one as a young teenager, and it still hurts thirty  years later: me? I wouldn't recommend them!

If you get horses you will be very lucky, or must be very wealthy, if you have any money left for sailing.

Horse riding, sailing and photography. Could I choose any pricier hobbies??

Tom - capsizing a boat doesnt always hurt. Water is kind of flexible in a way that turf isn't....

Look at it this way,  if you walked into your H&S chaps office and said 'I've got this great idea for team bonding, what we're gonna jump on the back of a 1/2 ton wild beast and zip around a speeds of up to 40mph.  And just for sh*ts and giggles we might try and jump some stuff....No no we gonna wear flock covered glass fibre helmets...come back...what did I say???

Very good point.

Bear in mind that if H&S people had been around then we would never have built an Empire or won 2 World Wars either.
