Craiggo, you are not getting pimping. Waste of money??  Who cares thats what pimping is about.  This whole thread was started to bring a touch of carelessness in this economic Shadow we are currently sat in!

Wow possibly a little harsh. The rings are so you can wack the kicker off from any where on the rack, like going from a tight reach to a broad one without moving forward. And the rig tension is pretty much for those days when i don't put on enough for the conditions or just want to tweak it on.

As for a waste of money the rope was a £5er from the boat to replace the chafed bit that was already there and the block was kicking around in the tool box.

but it's my boat and it helps me sail it, hopefully better

although your opinion was duly noted this is a page about pimping to which you have only contributed criticism

I have to say your bimbles on the 600 are a complete waste of money.

You dont neet to adjust the rig tension enough to warrent having it adjustable on the water, and whats with all the loops and rings and sh%t on your kicker. The standard system works just fine. Last time I noticed you didnt need to play the kicker, its not a J80 downwind you know !!

Couple of pimps coming up to bring the thread back to life. (excuse the pro-grip on the 600, waiting for warmer weather)

The bottom two are of laser 4000 kite sheets. Top 3 show the 600 with the rig tension led back to the cock pit, new main sheet and the kicker rings on an elastic take up.

we threaded a 5mm dia plastic tube down the centre of some 9mm rooster polilite sheet. i know, not very pimp but hear me out before you kick me out of the silly club. then filled it with magic gel and sealed the end. Magic gel is that wonderful stuff you get in little pouches at ski shops which you break and it realeses heat. anyway you put the rope in some boiling water, pull it out take it to the club. anyway just before going on the water you go nuts with the rope and smash it up, breaking the gel.

Hey presto toastie hands all the way round the course, well actually for half an hour, but at the moment we are experimenting with thicker rope, 14mm and tapering it down to run through the systems. the 14mm means you can get more gel in to keep your hands warmer for longer.

things we found out: you have to have rooster rope as other stuff isnt strong without a core. you need to leave 4 inches empty at the dead end to allow for variances in pressure, if not it explodes. dont feed it through the bits that run through blocks when you are going upwind, i.e. just have thje heat element starting 2 feet away from the jammer when the sail is sheeted fully in, or else it goes pop and you get red goo everywhere. the rooster rope repels water to an extent thus keepin it warmer.

Quick, get down the patent office!

Daft as it sounds, heated ropes wouldn't have gone amiss at the '09 Bloddy Mary, or many other winter series/events. Sooner or later somebody is going to come up with a solution without compromising the rope.
