I'm currently mid refurb on my all GRP Solo. The upper parts are currently in undercoat awaiting some weather that is a bit warmer for the top coats. The hull is fine and not being painted but the floor could do with a coat of something. The only question is what?

It is currently an off white/very pale grey colour and has been painted before but some of the paint has peeled away. It is not in non stick but that is an option for me to use.

Ideally I'd like something one coat and durable but if it needs to have an undercoat and a top coat to get something much improved I would consider that.

Recommendations?

internationals interdeck is probably the best for a floor coating and you can get away without undercoating it first and its non slip which is good

Did I read that sugar rather than sand is best to mix into the floor paint to give it a non-smooth finish?
Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

If you use sand, then you'll get an abrasive non-slip coating.

If you use sugar, then it will dissove in water, and leave little dimples in the coating...

The sugar technique gives less non-slip, but is easier on the sitting-out parts of your body!

I think the international paint contains pumice.

If you want different colours to the 3 or 4 standard ones, your local chandlier should be able to sell you loose powered pumice to mix in with a paint to get a non slip finish.

Given the recommendations above I have now ordered some Interdeck.

Thanks.
