Dont have to tell me twice.

MIKE.

what diameter is the mast? in the few photos ive seen it looks like you've got some sidebend issues. at least with the mylar sail in the photos on your website, the KA looks a bit better, but can you tighten up the leech enough to get your upwind speed?

my old man has gone down the unstayed mast route and has had a few issues even with massive diameter (65mmOD).

ive been threatening to put together a new moth and am wondering about the unstayed options.

Mast is a little over 55mm and while twist is a little bit of an issue its not
enough of a problem that I am bothered by it, weight is more of a problem,
with the mast probably a 1.5kg over a windrush (not offset against rigging
though). I've had some pretty good upwind pace against the mistresses
upwind on occasion. Most problems so far are foil setup related and I think
I'm at the bottom of it now.
White sail pictures on the website were before the mast got beefed up a bit,
the newer sail is a mk2 of the mylar sail (not a KA) which was a bit fuller.

I can probably give you some bend info if you have a standard test...

This pic was taken when the "Belle" (from Manly Qld) was returning to Brisbane.
