Anyone been to the boat show?

We went Saturday (nice to see Y+Y crowd) It did seem very quiet there this year. since it's been at docklands it seems to have lost something.....not sure what though

If you have been, what are your thoughts.

I was there for the raymarine thinghy on saturday which didn't leave too much time for browsing the show but we managed. It was pretty good , havnig not been before i have nothing to compare too. I'm deffinatly keener on the dinghy show, but thats just down to my interest.

I was suprised that the RS stand didn't have a 600 or an 800 on display. I was also slightly suprised not to see and ovington stand, but i suppose they have lots of boats to build!

I enjoyed it but i'm not sure i'd make the 6 hour car journey to go again!

It was pretty good, shame RYA north-east couldn't get themselves into gear to decide who was regional winner when i won (missed the boat show thing). Although i think it was just as fun to laugh at Tom doing the Deck Games thing.

Might have been better if they had condensed the Raymarine stuff into a shorter time, as it was a bit slow moving, but it was a good day really.

Saw this on the Y+Y News front page: click here

"Visitors to the show over the coming weekend will be able to visit an extra 10 dinghy racing classes who will be exhibiting outside on the dock on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, 29ers and 49ers will be demonstrating their own style of ‘crash and burn’ racing out on the dock… and the weather forecast is breezy!"

Haven't yet found out who is going to be there, does anyone know?

I'll be there crewing a Hornet in the pursuit race on Sunday. If any of you are around will ahve plenty of time for a drink and a chat - unlike Grafham where had to dash off cos of the bloody weather.

I think I'm going on sunday, but as per usual haven't quite worked out my plans well enough to be sure of going.
I don't suffer from insanity...I enjoy every moment of it.
