I think there was a Solution out today doing the "Winkle of the Harbour" from Mengeham. Be interested to see how it did as it was quite windy....

Indeed they do break but its the splinter effect they have when they break that makes them a good weapon!

Speaking of well aimed masts.....the guy who own owns the Solution I wallaped nearly took me out today when he capsized! Made the helm have a heart stopping moment but we survived!


Are Europe masts good as a weapon then? I always find carbon tends to break....

Now that sounds like a challenge. But having said that there wasn't much that didn;t beat me at Grafham this weekend .

Oh and an update on the Solution, they guy who was kind enough to lend me his boat the other weekend has now had a chance to play with the rig. He tells me raking it back helps a lot with the weather helm (he was certainly going better yesterday).

The Blaze is quick but it does need open water as it tack relatively slowly so it sometimes pays to bang the corners on smaller waters.
