as a fat git , when I saw dart 6000 's come out I wondered about single handing one , then forgot about it too expensive in those days for me .

Anyone ever try it  ???

Though looking at figures - vertical luff main 9.5 metres and 20m sq sail area , might be a handfull for one , even a guttbucket like me .

Infact those dimension s not a kick in the pants off an F18 ht main

Tim Swinburn has done it.  I was planning to if I ended up sans boat at any point (tim has one at Grafham).  Only problem is that the 6000 is about 180kg !

Great big Fat bloke called Arkwright (AKA Ian Smith) sails one singled handed at Bala Cat Club in North Wales I believe? But then again he must be about 6ft 4 and 25 odd stone  so 180 Kgs ain’t much problem to him  specially as the tide don’t go out and its only 20 feet from berth to the water!

Wonder what the handicap is

Don’t suppose it’s worth asking what it might be NEXT season on the new dimensions?

Skegs and Dart sails may well be the way to go if your looking for a competitive boat on the new handicap in 2007!

Maybe we should look at the boat those in the know are buying/have brought  this winter if we are looking for a clue

Good point I somehow suspect that carbon beams will not be being penalised

Think that the Major will have already won with his reference to the F16

How about

schrs has finally realised the unjustness of handicapping fat blurks in excess of 100kgs in a formula that represents their weight as 75 kgs  and will be in the future allowing fat blurks n skinny to self declare in hcap events , subject to imprisonment for those that tell porkies .

Give free for all on board depths n ratios , similarily for jibs .

To what end Catmandoo? Why just these items? If you are going to do that then why not a free-for-all on mains, hull dimensions and boat width/weights etc as well? Cat sailing would then be just one massive development class then?
