right now I am restoring a 1936 Blanchard Senior classic wooden sailboat and not on the water with anything but my power boat. I have developed an obsession with the old wooden sail boats and am learning the skills of sailing. I live in Louisville Kentucky so the wind isnt great here but better on the river than on Lake Cumberland where I do most of the rest of my boating. Fortunately the sail boat isnt hard to haul so I will be traveling with her. Quite frankly at this point if all I do is sit in her at the dock that would be satisfactory provided I can get through the restoration :-) |

Mostly not true but partly. I own a web and software development company and UMU is a client. When I have an appropriate place to promote them I do. I think that is what sigs are for? I also have all of my boats and watercraft insured by them and would never pimp a company I didnt believe in. However I truly am interested in sailing and for me the old wooden sail boats.... |

Another here! We are getting a few more women sailors up here in Northumberland, but not many regulars. Still, quite often in the past year the ladies changing rooms have been full - a fantastic development. Dry suits have helped, although I am a steamer girl for preference.

Since you are interested in sailing, welcome to the forum! There are quite a few female sailors here, who are on the water regularly and post even more regularly... I'm one of them I'm Good luck with your restoration project and enjoy sailing in her when she's back to her former glory. Don't forget to post photos of the work in progress!! |
