My sentiments exactly Tom

Thanks for being able to put it a little more diplomatically than myself

We try to make everyone welcome at our club because it's such a good club. I hope we'll see everyone here again next year.

49er 531 & 5000 5025 and a mirror(now gone to mirror heaven)!

one last bit of feedback from me , had a gr8 time , will be back and probably with even more newcommers from the darkest North .

But and a big but (not mine !)

Would have expected finalised results on website by now , unless my browser is decieving me (possible) I still can't see any , any idea , if and when they will be produced , unfortunately as i wasn't in the money haven't seen my final result confirmed yet - on other hand neither has anyone else seen it to save my embarrassment !, must try harder.

on club racing front - surely you could easily muster 100 or so club cats , judging by numbers of "local " cats still in D park( I know a lot of your members also took part ) and then you would be catering for a large amount of your fee paying clientel and justify using the whole area for the cat racing , I understand the need to keep club racing going , but there cant be that many classes of boats in number that would need so much space and perhaps a special case could be made , only a 200 in number  skiff fleet would need so much room , otherwise i 'm sure as you do most regatta fleets can be easily accomodated alongside your club racing ,

Reckon the gods were good to you on sunday with overlapping course and not a lot of wind, you must be well connected.

PS - would have been worth mentioning that fleets would have been overlapping at sunday briefing, its never happened to me before  , I didn't appreciate the slower boats were racing when passing thriough them under kite , I thought they were beating back in for lunch as the previous day , sorry to those I assumed not racing and perhaps got a bit close too, eventually the penny dropped !

Keep up the good work ,

Tom - managed to delete the post by accident!

Catmandoo - if only we could get 100 boats from GWSC!! This could be another strand - what has happened to large cat fleets in club racing? Looking at noticeboards when I go to other clubs the days of 20 cats on a start line seem long gone - or are they just not signing on? When I started racing cats at GWSC we used to have 15+ Dart 18s and a lot of H5.9severy Sunday.  Most clubs seem to struggle to get to double figures in Fast Cats but clearly there is still a franchise for Opens/nationals/TT events. Maybe people don't have the time for Club racing.

In agreement with most on this post - Grafham may not have got it 100% right but they didn’t totally mess it up either, so I intend to return next year and hope that there will be even more boats then.

Having been involved with rectifying some of the controversial results and the instigator of a headache for the RO by only being able to count to 5, they dealt with the situations pretty efficiently on the whole I would say.

Who ever dreamt up the result query sheets/mini protest forms deserves a pat on the back, they certainly reduced the scrum around the RO in the Race Office and every body could clearly see the various outcomes when they were posted.

It is an idea I will take back to my club to adopt when we are putting on similar races involving multiple laps with boats of differing handicaps, which is when most problem seem to arise. In fact it may well benefit other clubs to consider using a similar approach having seen some right result cock-ups in the past.
