Is it me or is this actually impossible?

Has anyone managed to do it, if so how?

Thanks :)

The small carbon bush should be removable as you can buy
replacements.....? Maybe you were being a bit soft with it Dan

To be fair I've never had the misfortune of having to replace one and I'm
quite happy they don't simply pop out!

If you get new ones, its good to check the hole pattern!

I replaced the pintles on my rudder stock last year as they were cracking, and the new ones have a different hole pattern. Took a bit of engineering to get them to fit with no movement once I'd ovalled the holes in the stock !!

Sailboats list the bushes as a separate component - Clicky
£2.53 is certainly a lot cheaper than buying complete gudgeon assembly ?

I have tried to do it with a drill and a hammer before its near impossible but with the right tools its easy.

you need a peice of tube about 15mm ? diameter or what ever the bush fits inside, and a 12mm rod both around 30mm long and ends cut square.

you can then use a vice or G clamp to press with the rod the old seasure bush out of the fitting into the tube.

then just press the new bush into the fitting.

its well worth changing them because if there is any play your foils won't be in line.
