Pimp Club

The racks fit properly now! Thanks to the help of a hammer and my body
weight... and yes, yes there was quite a few different chemicals used, but i
got there eventally! Sikaflex, wests epoxy, think thats about it, and knowing
you you'd be too lazy to take the covers off to smear mud all over the place!

This was taken at about 10pm a few days after the BM, hence my phones rubbish quality! Will have my digital camera out on saturday and take some proper photo's....




Note the acetone, fan heaters and open packets of epoxy! We were in a bit of a panic.... This was taken using my dodgy nokia in 'night mode', hence the terrible quality, doesnt help it was resized by image shack!

List of Pimps So Far:

- Logos stuck to the front
- Completely reroped, mostly in 16 plait, but tack line and bag line are
4mm dyneema, and the main sheet is 7mm maffioli
- polished and T-cut
- had very cool team rashies made up
- instead of control lines led to the middle, they have been run to the front of the rack, leaving a very open cockpit
- COMING SOON: 3m Pinup girl for the main, and a mate of mine has some sponsor stickers for us... (should be on by the show tomorrow!)
- Reprogripped in black progrip
- 2 x new carbon extensions
- Pole has been re-blocked, replaced the cheek blocks so my pole slides in and out more easily!

Well I'm working on a few things but the re-furb has been delayed by the sub-zero temperatures that have been freezing all the lakes.

Hopefully things will now stay warm enough for paint/varnish to dry or my sailing season will be starting in the Autumn!

C'mon people we need some more pimptastic photos on this thread.

thought you were supposed to be the master of pimping??it would seem not

 

I still think the RS800 I was sailing last year was pretty pimp. Every stainless fitting on the boat was gold plated, plus loads of other stuff. But i guess its easier to pimp a boat out when you build it from scrath and then fit it out yourself.
